CHESTNUTS Conditions of Accommodation
Chestnuts cottage (hereafter referred to as ‘the property’) has established the following rules of use for the safety and comfort of its guests.
Please note that if you do not abide by these rules, we reserve the right to refuse your use of the premises.
Article 1 Check-in and check-out
Check-in from 3pm.
Check-out 10am.
Check-in is self-check-in.
Please make sure you confirm the key number of the entrance door by clicking on the “Reservation details” button in the email sent on the day of booking.
Please make sure you check the information book in the property after self-check-in.
Under the Hotel Business Act, it is compulsory to record the name, address and occupation of all guests.
Please fill in the registration card after check-in.
Please vacate the property by the check-out time at end of the stay period, having sorted out all rubbish and put away all dishes and cooking utensils in a clean and tidy manner.
As this is a self-check-out, the room will be checked after the guest has left the room.
Article 2 Cancellation
Bookings made 60 days or more before the arrival date:
A deposit of 20% will be charged initially, for a provisional booking.
The provisional booking is confirmed once the invoice has been confirmed and payment has been made and processed.
The remaining 80% will be invoiced 59 days before the arrival date.

In both cases, the booking will be automatically cancelled if the payment is not completed.
Please note that in both cases, no refunds are possible in the case of cancellations or changes after payment has been completed.
Please note also that If you have made a full payment earlier than required (i.e. 60 days or more prior to the check-in date), and wish to cancel or change your booking after full payment has been made, no refunds are possible in this instance either.
Bookings made 59 days or more before the arrival date:
The full amount will be invoiced at the time of booking.
The booking is confirmed once the invoice has been confirmed and payment has been made and processed.
Please note that no refunds will be made for cancellations or changes after the payment has been made.
Reservations can be made up to three days before the arrival date.
Article 3 Housekeeping
During your stay you please think of yourself as the owner of the cottage.
We will set everything up ready for a comfortable stay, but we will not be able to respond to enquiries regarding insect control, snow removal, use of appliances and equipment etc during your stay.
Amenities.
We promote environmentally friendly practices.
Two towels per person (bath towel and face towel) are provided. Please bring your own extra towels if you need more, as they are not washed and exchanged during your stay.
Please bring your own favourite toothbrushes and razors, as we do not provide them.
Shampoo, conditioner and body soap are available.
Room cleaning
We do not change sheets or go in for room cleaning during your stay.
For longer stays, sheets and cleaning utensils will be left in the room for you to use at your own convenience.
When you check out, we ask that you wash the dishes and utensils you have used and that you separate your rubbish properly.
Article 4: Loss or damage of equipment and fixtures
If equipment or fixtures are lost or damaged during your stay, please inform us by email when you check out.
Our specialist staff will check the damage and charge you if there is a fee to repair the damage. (If the damage or loss is not declared by the customer (even if the loss or damage is confirmed), the customer will be informed of the damage or loss by email.
The customer agrees to pay for the damage or loss by credit card registered in advance.
Article 5 Prohibitions
Smoking is not permitted in the building or in any of the rooms.
In the unlikely event that a guest or accompanying guest is found smoking and continues to smoke despite having been warned to stop smoking in the room, the accompanying guest or the person smoking may be asked to leave the room. No refunds will be made in such cases.
If a guest or accompanying person smoking is discovered smoking inside the property, an additional cleaning fee of at least JPY 20,000 will be charged. In addition, they will be liable for any costs incurred in arranging alternative accommodation for the next guest(s) due to check in, in the case that they are unable to check in as planned due to the smoking odour and necessary cleaning, airing and deodorisation. The guest agrees to pay this bill by credit card registered in advance.
No dogs, cats, birds or pets of any kind are allowed in the property. They are not allowed to stay or visit under any circumstances, with the exception of registered guide dogs and service dogs.
Items emitting a strong smell, dangerous items such as gunpowder, explosives, swords, illegal drugs and all other items prohibited by law are forbidden in the property.
Exceeding the maximum number of guests is forbidden for safety reasons.
Guests will be required to vacate the premises in the event that their behaviour or noise cause significant disturbance to neighbouring residents (e.g. unreasonable noise disturbance, whether at night or during the day).
The use of the property for anything that goes against rules and laws, public order or good morals is prohibited for reasons of safety, and guests deemed likely to violate these will not be allowed to stay.
The use of the premises is prohibited in the event that the applicant or guest does not comply with these rules of use.
The use of the premises is prohibited by anyone who is clearly or know to be suffering from a contagious disease.
Article 6 Prohibition of use of the facilities by anti-social organisations etc.
Individuals and groups that fall under the following categories are not permitted to use the premises. If such a fact is discovered after a booking has been made or even during use, the use of the premises is strictly prohibited.
In the case of a person who is a gangster, a member of a gangster organisation, a quasi member of a gangster organisation, a person related to a gangster organisation or any other anti-social force.
If you are a legal entity or other organisation whose business activities are controlled by a crime syndicate or a member of a crime syndicate.
In the event that assault, injury, threats, extortion, unjustified demands abusing power or similar acts are recognised.
Article 7 Internet use
The Wi-Fi at the premises can be used freely, but the property cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by virus infection, loss of information or any other damage to any devices etc. used by the customer.
Wi-Fi is provided as part of the service and this does not guarantee a 100% reliable internet environment.
The property cannot provide any kind of support with regard to the settings of the guests’ computer or devices.
Article 8 Parking
When guests use the on-site car park, the property lends them a space and is not responsible for the management or care of the vehicle.
However, if the property causes damage due to intent or negligence in the management of the car park, the property shall be liable to compensate for the damage.
Article 9 Other precautions
The establishment operates only in Japan and all services are provided in accordance with the laws of the country of origin. Some services are provided by agents.
In accordance with the law, the establishment shall not be liable for any loss, damage, delay, delay in flights, indirect damage, injury or death, which is caused by force majeure or unavoidable circumstances and which is not attributable to the establishment.
